Compensation & HoursCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Per Diem Overnights (11 P‑7 A) – $17‑$20 / hr plus shift differentials
Summary of PositionThe CNA plays an integral role in supporting nursing department functions, assisting residents with daily living activities, and ensuring safe, compassionate care.
Essential Job Functions- Provide physical support for residents to perform daily living activities, including lifting, transfers, bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, meal assistance, and vital sign measurement.
- Observe and document residents’ health, behavior, and physical/emotional condition; promptly report changes to nursing staff.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident call signals, lights, bells, or intercoms to determine needs.
- Promote personal safety and a safe environment by following infection control practices and reporting unsafe situations.
- Communicate changes, concerns, and resident conditions to nurses.
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide companionship, comfort, and support to residents.
- Meet federal and state in‑service training requirements.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Tactfully deal with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies.
- Work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
- Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the CNA position.
- Preferred: at least 6 months of experience in home care, assisted living, or long‑term care.
This position does not have direct reports.
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsTasks may involve direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements- Prolonged standing, ability to lift 50 pounds (up to 75 pounds when necessary).
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry patients.
- Use of abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
- Stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
- Fine motor skills.
- Execute tasks independently.
- Speak clearly and effectively.
- Concentrate on moderate details amid frequent interruptions.
- Visual acuity and hearing alertness.
- Exposure to ambient room temperatures and lighting conditions.
