Veterinary Assistant

Banfield Pet Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technical teams, ensuring safety and quality of care for pets, clients, and staff.

The Vet Assistant provides professional, efficient, and exceptional service, ensuring client and pet comfort, using technical skills within state practice standards and NAVTA guidelines. Other responsibilities include:

• Helping maintain the flow of patients
• Communicating with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhering to hospital standards that keep pets safe and maintain clean, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• Educating clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care
• Mentoring other members of the hospital team

Preferred Education/Licenses:
Certificate from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Experience:

Ability to perform all required skills of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs at a level that aids practice efficiency.

$15.19 - $19.41 hourly, based on experience, skill level, and education; may vary by location or applicable wage laws.
