Job Overview
Position: Electronic Technician – Onsite (3rd Shift) at Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems organization (Raytheon) – Largo, FL.
Location: 7887 Bryan Dairy Rd., BLDG 100, LARGO-382SS, Florida, USA.
Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required. Active DoD Secret clearance required after day 1.
Shift
Schedule:
11:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
- Perform electrical tests and troubleshoot subassemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications.
- Read, understand, and accurately follow prints, schematics, sketches, test procedures, and verbal or written instructions.
- Operate environmental test chambers to assure workmanship and product performance.
- Develop test data to resolve performance problems connected with the product under test.
- Perform soldering and/or mechanical assembly as required.
- Prepare and maintain test reports.
- Reject assemblies that fail to conform with test specifications and indicate on proper documents the phase of failure and required alterations.
- Perform simple mathematics to determine power consumption, gain efficiency, signal‑to‑noise ratio, etc.
- Use considerable judgment to complete duties.
- Move material as directed.
- Determine acceptability, locate and record discrepancies on various subassemblies using direct reading instruments, gauges, meters, and specialized measuring or testing devices, including stereo microscopes.
- Collect data and maintain records in written or electronic media as directed.
- Store, handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste chemicals in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental protection laws.
- Undergo annual retraining to comply with applicable regulations.
- Pass pre‑qualification tests or exams when required and keep them updated.
- Perform duties as directed by supervisor.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Minimum of one of the following:
- Successfully complete a pre‑qualification test or exam (may need periodic re‑validation).
- Electronic Technology Certificate from an accredited institution.
- AA/AS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Hardware Engineering, or related field.
- Military electronics technical school certification.
- Four years of documented professional or military experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment within the last 12 years.
- Four years of experience as an “Electronic Tester” (Job Code: EH0367).
- Prior experience as an Electronic Technician.
