Leasing Specialist

Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Pinellas County Housing Authority

Help People Find More Than a Home. Help Them Find Opportunity.

At the Pinellas County Housing Authority (PCHA), our work is about more than properties and leases. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable housing and improve the lives of residents—and every interaction with a prospective resident is an opportunity to bring that mission to life.

We are looking for an energetic, people-focused Leasing Specialist who enjoys connecting with others, showcasing communities, and creating a welcoming experience from the first inquiry through move-in.

What You’ll Do

As our Leasing Specialist, you’ll help connect prospective residents with housing opportunities across PCHA communities. You’ll:

  • Respond to prospective applicants by phone, email, online inquiries, and in person.
  • Provide clear and accurate information about available homes, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and community amenities.
  • Conduct welcoming and professional property and unit tours.
  • Develop creative marketing strategies to promote available homes through online listings, flyers, signage, social media, and community outreach.
  • Build relationships with community partners and organizations to help connect people with PCHA housing opportunities.
  • Process applications, prepare lease packages, and coordinate lease signings.
  • Partner closely with Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers to support successful lease-ups and occupancy goals.
  • Track leasing activity and market trends to help PCHA continually improve how we reach and serve prospective residents.
  • Maintain accurate records while following Fair Housing requirements, HUD regulations, and PCHA policies.
Our Values in Action Accountability

You follow through, communicate clearly, maintain accurate information, and take ownership of providing an excellent applicant experience.

Integrity

You treat every applicant and resident fairly, respectfully, and professionally while maintaining the highest ethical and compliance standards.

Innovation

You bring fresh ideas to marketing, outreach, and leasing strategies and look for new ways to connect people with PCHA communities.

Culture of Learning

You stay curious, learn from leasing trends and applicant feedback, collaborate with your teammates, and continuously look for ways to improve.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who combines strong customer service skills with organization, initiative, and a genuine desire to help people.

Minimum qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in leasing, real estate, sales, marketing, customer service, property management, or another public-facing role.
  • College coursework in business, marketing, or public administration is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of—or the ability to learn—Fair Housing requirements and applicable housing regulations.
  • Valid Florida Class E driver’s license and ability to meet PCHA insurance requirements.

Some evening or weekend availability may be needed for tours or marketing events, and the position requires travel between PCHA properties.

Why PCHA?

This is an opportunity to combine customer service, marketing, relationship-building, and purpose-driven work. You’ll play an important role in helping our communities thrive while making the housing search more welcoming and accessible for the people we serve.

If you are someone who leads with integrity, enjoys connecting with people, embraces new ideas, and wants your work to make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Join PCHA and help us provide quality, affordable housing while improving the lives of residents—one connection at a time.

Pinellas County Housing Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
