About The Role
This is a full‑time position on‑site; hybrid or work‑from‑home is not an option.
The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment and building services, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, minimizing downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance. The role requires an HVAC technician to perform maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on building systems, equipment, and instruments. The technician also supervises and mentors others, works within guidelines and policies, and collaborates with BMS to ensure efficient building operation.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and involves providing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do- Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electrical, steam, and chilled water systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure accurate operation and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
- Fix equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of own job subject area and broad knowledge of several job fields within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Work with BMS routinely to supervise, adjust, and tackle building.
- Diagnose and repair self‑contained refrigeration equipment such as 4 °C, –20 °C, and –80 °C units.
- High School Diploma, GED, trade school diploma or equivalent experience; 4‑5 years of job‑related experience; prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Meet the physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organizational skills with a sophisticated inquisitive attitude.
- Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
