Engine Mechanic

Founded in 1963, Everglades Equipment Group is a family owned and operated full-service John Deere dealership with 19 locations covering central and south Florida. We serve a wide range of customers from large agricultural producers to individual farmers, golf courses, nurseries, landscape management companies, construction businesses, and property owners. Small Engine Technician

• Repair and maintenance of a variety of equipment with a focus on 2-stroke and Stihl equipment.
• Demonstrate skills from basic mechanical to complex technical diagnostics of modern computerized systems.
• Provide own basic tool kit.
• Navigate product support software and computer programs for work order maintenance and write reports for customer invoicing.
• Exercise good customer relations, handle customer complaints, and maintain working relationships with fellow employees.
• Follow safety practices at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance on small engine equipment (Stihl and Honda equipment, pressure washers, push mowers, riding mavers, UTVs, compact tractors, etc.).
• Blade sharpening or replacement, oil and filter changes, and replacement of spindles, belts, and related components.
• Knowledge of parts related to small engines (air filters, spark plugs, belts, etc.).
• Ability to work with or without power tools.

• Mechanical knowledge, preferably 2-stroke or Stihl equipment experience.
• Strong communication skills; good teamwork and ability to build a team.
• Basic data entry and ability to write reports.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines; adaptable to extreme environmental conditions.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.

• Bonus: $1,500 bonus for STIHL Gold Certified Technicians and above after 90 days of service with Everglades Equipment Group.
