Your Role

The Plant Technician is responsible for maintaining the buildings, equipment, and grounds at our waste and recycling facility. You'll be ensuring that the site remains safe, clean, and fully operational by performing preventive maintenance, light welding, repairs, and general upkeep on facility systems and infrastructure.

What You'll Do
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair machine belting, bearings and rollers.
  • Assist with maintenance of stationary equipment such as conveyorsand sorting lines.
  • Conduct light welding repairs as needed.
  • Support operations by promptly responding to maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain safe work areas by ensuring walkways, exits, and emergency systems are functional and clear of hazards.
  • Operate small equipment and power tools in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment or facility issues to management.

What You'll Bring
  • Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn.
  • One (1) year of mechanical experience, technical training, vocational education, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and basic shop equipment.
  • Willingness to build and maintain a professional tool set.
  • Technical school training or bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) skills are a plus.
