The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Software Engineering Department has an opportunity for a talented Principal Software Engineer to join our team. Typical job functions include participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques.

Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support. You will work and learn in an engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute.

This is an onsite role, based out of Largo, FL.

• Participate on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques.
• Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support.
• You will work and learn in an engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute.

• Experience in Software Engineering including working various phases of the software development lifecycle using C/C++, JAVA, JavaScript HTML5, and/or CSS
• Experience with full-stack development (GUI, back-end services, middleware)
• Familiarity with developing applications using communication protocols (UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, RTP, SIP), working knowledge of Windows, Linux, VxWorks or other Real time operating systems

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Experience with Dev Ops, Jenkins, automated testing, real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded programming, processor/board architecture and design
• Exposure to Model Driven Development, understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
• Applied experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D)
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Active and transferable Secret
