Title: Preschool Aftercare Coordinator

Supervisor: Director of Auxiliary Programs

Hours: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:00pm

Pay rate: $25-27/hour

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and support the daily operations of the Preschool Aftercare Program, ensuring a high-quality experience for students and families. The Preschool Aftercare Coordinator works in partnership with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to implement program goals, maintain best-practice standards, support staff and student needs, and foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes student growth and well-being.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during aftercare hours, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and structured environment.
  • Lead and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, outdoor recreation, and quiet-time programming.
  • Support positive student behavior by reinforcing school expectations and established policies.
  • Coordinate student dismissal procedures and verify that students are released only to authorized adults.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and other school staff regarding student needs, safety concerns, and behavioral issues.
  • Interface with preschool parents to share relevant information about their children in the aftercare program.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging aftercare space that promotes student participation and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 units, OR minimum of 6 credits complete AND currently enrolled in at least 2 units
  • Available to work weekday afternoons
  • Experience working with preschool children in a school setting, or similar setting such as a summer camp
  • Courteous, warm, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to follow directions and flexibly problem solve
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Health Screening, TB clearance, and background fingerprinting clearance required
  • A full school year commitment is expected

Salary Range
: $25-$27 per hour
