Job Description Summary

Within the multi‑specialty hub model, the Medical Assistant, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management. This role assists the providers within the scope of practice to provide quality patient care. This includes gathering patient information, assessing patient requests, obtaining and monitoring patient vitals, assisting with procedures, and adhering to infection prevention practices.

This position rotates between multi‑specialty practices as assigned based on patient volume demand.

Pay Range

$28.00 – $31.21 – $36.41

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Direct Patient Care
  • Rooming patients, including obtaining vital signs, obtaining reason for visit, and documenting symptoms, frequency, and severity.
  • Prepare an accurate medication list utilizing medication review standard workflow.
  • Document all required information in electronic medical records.
  • Provide injections and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
  • Provide assistance during medical procedures.
  • Obtain all patient information required to meet regulatory obligations.
  • Track the receipt of all results for all ordered tests.
  • Perform POCT as well as all quality controls.
  • Perform ECGs, place Zio patches per workflow protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Communication and Correspondence
  • Use electronic medical records and work off “task lists” to complete patient visits or requests.
  • Follow critical lab result protocol.
  • Provide patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns.
  • Maintain patient records and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Complete referrals accurately and appropriately.
  • Utilize closed‑loop communication to ensure providers and required staff are aware of patient status.
Maintain Patient Areas and Supplies
  • Disinfect exam rooms between patients and all patient areas at the end of the day.
  • Assist with clinic upkeep, including daily cleaning and supply ordering/inventory.
  • Adhere to infection prevention practices related to instructions for use (IFUs), re‑processing standards of instruments and equipment.
General
  • Remain calm and effective in an emergency or in high‑pressure situations.
  • Collaborate with team members on various ongoing projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all OSHA and safety regulations.
  • This position may require working in multiple locations.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA is required.
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
