About The Position

Travel Nurse Source  is working with Prime Staffing to find a qualified CVICU RN in Larkspur, California, 94939.

The role involves providing nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, supporting cardiology and electrophysiology procedures, and participating in patient education, monitoring, and transition of care management.

Responsibilities
  • Provides pre- and post-operative education for cardiology and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Educates patients about their cardiovascular condition and explains treatment options as directed by the cardiologist or electrophysiologist.
  • Teaches patients ways to prevent worsening of cardiovascular conditions, emphasizing self-monitoring and providing appropriate resources.
  • Triage patients' physical symptoms/arrhythmias appropriately and consult with cardiologists or electrophysiologists per protocol.
  • Covers RN Testing Center and Cardiac PET CT Imaging procedures when needed.
  • Participates in transition of care management to ensure discharge medications and instructions are understood by patients and/or family members.
  • Updates medication and problem list in the Electronic Health Record and ensures follow-up with cardiologists.
  • Reviews daily lab/test results, physician tasks, and clinical worklist(s) as assigned.
  • Assists the Nurse Supervisor and/or Director on matters relating to nursing practices and participates in the development of policies and protocols for patient care.
  • Initiates and maintains personal professional development as required for continuing education.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years' cardiovascular clinic and/or hospital nursing experience.
  • Two years of experience in a critical care or cardiac inpatient unit preferred.
  • Two years of experience with telemetry monitoring preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in California.
  • Maintains BLS and ACLS certification.
Additional Information
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Immunization requirements: MMR, seasonal flu, COVID-19 vaccine and booster as a condition of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and internal/market equity factors.
