Accountant, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections, Accounting & Finance

Position: Accountant 1
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining efficient workflows.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment of invoices.

- Manage accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is properly recorded.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting.

- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support organizational decision-making.

- Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve accounting-related inquiries.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Ability to analyze financial data and produce accurate reports.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
