Accountant, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections, Accounting Assistant

Position: Accountant 2
Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Las Cruces, New Mexico. In this role, you will handle key accounting tasks, including managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in records, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.

- Monitor and update the general ledger to reflect accurate account balances.

- Assist in financial reporting by compiling relevant data and supporting documentation.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Identify and address discrepancies in financial records promptly.

- Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting procedures and workflows.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

- Maintain organized and secure records of financial transactions. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

- Strong ability to conduct accurate bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
