Position: Accounts Payable Technician (91-00)

Non-Exempt

up to $50,356

Job Description:

Verifies and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records. Maintains current vendor files, issuance of non-taxable transaction certificates, W-9's and helps with fixed asset listing. Under general supervision performs various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of the finance department.

Core Competencies:

* Basic accounting practices, principles, and Fund Accounting.

* Ability to analyze and solve problems.

* Knowledge of accounts payable principles and/or procedures.

* Ability to use an automated accounting system.

* Basic data entry and or word processing skills.

* Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

* Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs and accounting programs (Abila preferred).

* Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees and groups.

* High attention to detail and high organizational skills.

* Excellent math skills.

* Basic knowledge of General Ledger.

* Good communication skills; verbal and written.

Job Requirements:

* High school diploma with three-years of experience in accounting or related field.
