This is an on-sight position located at the East Mesa campus. At times work hours may need to be altered to accommodate events such as convocation, commencement, board meetings, etc.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: This position provides administrative support to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
This includes supporting all academic processes (release time, sabbatical requests, administrative reviews) and manage related documents including course action forms, proposals for new programs or changes to existing programs, yearly catalog, sub waiver forms, evaluation of transfer credit forms, degree audits, promotion and tenure documents, and confidential personnel matters. Manage and/or track on calendars, schedules and deadlines, and related academic documents: coordinate VPAA and two
associate vice presidents appointment schedules; serve on committees as needed for a support capacity, Provide and coordinate staff and office support for the vice president and two associate vice presidents, as well as coordinate and oversee daily office activities for the offices of the vice president including supervising of two administrative assistants.
This position also conducts preliminary research on a wide range of issues including academic program history, promotion and tenure policy, personnel policy, payroll data, and retention of academic records . Research often requires a facility to gather and conduct preliminary analysis of information. In tandem with other offices, support academic publications and events including catalog, class schedule, working retreats, convocation,and commencement.

Assisting with the faculty hiring process is also handled by this position to ensure timely completion of the process and the coordination of all interviews being completed by administrators and VPAA or designees.
This position serves as back up to the Chancellor/President's Executive Admin I as needed.
The person in this position makes decisions on a day-to-day basis within policy and established procedures of the college and of the administrative function of the VPAA office more specifically. This includes designing and implementing systems for processing documents and tasks; communicating with administrators, faculty, and staff about academic processes; and securing/communicating critical background information for decisions that must be made by the VPAA and AVPAA.

This position is also regularly consulted when administrators are considering changing processes and procedures; this consultation is meant to ensure a perspective from a staff member thinking about implications for administrative staff across the college who will implement or be impacted by the change.

Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.
