Associate Director of Regional Engagement

Georgetown University

Location:

Job Overview

The Associate Director of Regional Engagement is a key position on the Alumni Relations team responsible for developing and coordinating a strategic market presence in key markets for Georgetown. The role focuses on managing Georgetown’s Alumni Clubs and Alumni Contacts in these regions, working closely with Club and Contact volunteers through monthly meetings and traveling to each market as budget allows.

The position cultivates, trains, educates and stewards a network of volunteers for leadership within the Alumni Club/Contact structure and prepares them for other volunteer roles at Georgetown and beyond. The Associate Director engages Clubs and Contacts to deliver key messages, support university initiatives, and build a network of informed ambassadors for Georgetown.

This person works closely with Development Officers (West Coast and Southwest), the annual giving team, alumni career services, and unit-based Development Officers to create a comprehensive strategy for each market. The strategy balances the needs of Georgetown University, the “Called to Be” Campaign, and the Alumni Association, and includes planning, coordinating, and programming off‑campus events that reach alumni and broader constituents.

The Associate Director also oversees communications for the Alumni Clubs Committee, serving as liaison to the Vice‑Chair for Communications and the Communications Committee for the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association, which involves working with two committees of approximately 20 alumni. Some travel, evenings, and weekends are required. The Associate Director serves as a professional representative of Georgetown University in interactions with donors, volunteers, prospects, vendors, faculty, staff and students.
