Location: Doña Ana Community College, New Mexico, United States
Position Type: Temporary Part‑Time Faculty (0.74 FTE) – Exempt
Closing Date: Dec 11 2026 – 23:55 MST
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications
Work Schedule: Standard (M–F, 8‑5), with flexibility for instructional modalities (in‑person, online, hybrid, hyflex) including evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in assigned courses in accordance with the master course syllabus, learning outcomes, and departmental guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain course syllabi, develop instructional materials, and design assessments that promote student learning.
- Engage students through active and inclusive teaching strategies, provide timely feedback, and foster a supportive classroom environment.
- Teach across instructional modalities and across times including evenings/weekends per departmental needs.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently, keep accurate records of grades and attendance.
- Be available to support students outside of class via appropriate and accessible means of communication.
- Participate in required orientation sessions, professional development, and departmental training.
Required Minimum Degree: Master’s degree in Communication, History, Philosophy, Spanish, or other related field.
- No minimum equivalency specified.
- Demonstrated experience teaching at the post‑secondary level.
- Experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs.
- Teaching philosophy that aligns with the DACC mission and values.
- Bilingual competence in English and Spanish considered an asset.
- Environment:
Typical interior/office work environment. - Physical Effort:
No or very limited physical effort required. - Lifting Requirements:
Handle average‑weight objects up to 10 lb or some standing/walking. - Risk:
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
