Provides leadership, advising, and operational support for both the Associated Students of New Mexico State University (ASNMSU) and the Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) community. The position serves as the primary advisor to the ASNMSU Student Senate and provides advisory support to the Executive and Judicial Branches of student government while also supporting fraternity and sorority governing councils, Order of Omega, and community-wide leadership and engagement initiatives.
Advises student leaders on governance, policy development, budgeting, organizational operations, personnel matters, risk management, and leadership development while ensuring compliance with university policies, financial procedures, and applicable ASNMSU and FSL governing documents. The position collaborates with campus partners to advance student engagement, leadership development, fraternity and sorority success, and student governance initiatives.
Provides supervision and professional development for assigned student employees and graduate assistants. Oversees personnel-related processes and daily operations; and contributes to the successful delivery of programs, services, and initiatives within the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Programs.

Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

- Master's Degree or higher in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in higher education, student affairs, student activities, student government, fraternity and sorority life, leadership development, or a related field.
- Experience advising student organizations, student leaders, or governance bodies.
- Experience planning and implementing student programs, events, or leadership initiatives.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and organizational governing documents.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in higher education student affairs.
- Experience serving as an advisor to a student government association, student senate, governing board, or comparable leadership organization.
- Experience working with fraternity and sorority life communities, governing councils, or honor societies.
- Experience supervising professional staff, graduate assistants, and/or student employees, managing budgets, student fee allocations, or organizational funding processes.
- Experience facilitating leadership development programs, officer transitions, and governance training.
- Experience with student conduct, risk management, organizational accountability, and policy development.
- Experience working on student initiatives, projects or high-stakes issues while collaborating with senior administrators, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders.
Special Certification/Licensure:
- Certified Student Affairs Educator (CSAEd) or comparable professional credential.
- Mental Health First Aid certification.
- QPR Gatekeeper certification.
