Associate Director of Hazing & Interpersonal Violence Prevention
New Mexico State University invites applications for the Associate Director of Hazing & Interpersonal Violence Prevention. The role leads a comprehensive campus-wide prevention strategy covering hazing, interpersonal violence, healthy relationships, consent education, and bystander intervention. The position reports to the Director of Prevention & Well-Being Programs and collaborates with Student Life, Athletics, Housing, Student Conduct, the Office of Institutional Equity, fraternity and sorority life, and others to promote a culture of safety and accountability.

The Associate Director serves as the senior programmatic leader in the Aggie Prevention & Well-Being Programs unit, providing leadership for university prevention initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and assessing evidence-informed prevention strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors and strengthen campus culture.
- Leading education, outreach, assessment, and culture‑change initiatives in partnership with campus and community stakeholders.
- Supporting the university’s comprehensive prevention framework through proactive prevention and student engagement.
- Coordinating with compliance and response functions to ensure alignment with institutional policies.
Required
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree + 9 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree + 7 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree or higher preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Practical experience with training and development concepts, student organization risk management training, and/or fraternity and sorority advising.
- Knowledge of federal hazing law, Title IX, VAWA, and other higher education law and policy issues.
Special Certification/Licensure: TIX Training/Certification;
Peer Educator Training/Certification
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment. No or very limited physical effort is required. Lifting requirements: handling average‑weight objects up to 10 pounds with some standing or walking. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
