Job Duties and Responsibilities: Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to contribute to the mission of the Department in teaching, research, and service. The specific responsibilities of the position include teaching 9 credit hours per semester of some combination of undergraduate and graduate courses online and on-campus from existing curriculum and new courses created in an applicant’s specialty area, student advising/mentoring, conducting scholarship/research, participating in university and community service.

Education and Experience:

Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related discipline by August 15, 2027. ABDs may apply, but degree must be in hand by the start of employment; a J.D. alone is not sufficient for the position. We are looking for someone whose research specialty is in the area of criminology and criminal justice although we will consider candidates able to complement existing areas of specialty of our multi-disciplinary faculty

Equivalent Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: We seek exceptional candidates who can teach a variety of criminal justice required courses, including but not limited to, quantitative research methods, policing, or cyber security/criminology at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The ability to teach in other areas that enhance and/or complement current departmental strengths is welcomed. The potential for extramural funding is also desirable.

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
