Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary job duties will be to teach undergraduate courses in the department of kinesiology. Courses may include, but are not limited to, Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise for Special Populations, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Introduction to Kinesiology, and Interferential Statistics.

The job also requires service to NMSU and the department of Kinesiology through committee assignments.

Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

Possess an earned M.S. from an accredited institution of higher education in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field.

Be able to provide undergraduate instruction in the area(s) of Nutrition and Metabolism for Sport, Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Prescription for Clinical Populations, Exercise Physiology, and/or Introduction to Kinesiology.

Demonstrated a commitment to student mentoring and advising.

Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Show evidence of high-quality instruction at the undergraduate level in a variety of kinesiology courses.

Provide evidence of service work within an academic setting.

Certified ACSM-EP and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
