Project Engineer, Environmental Engineer

Wilson & Company is seeking a Professional Engineer to serve as a Lead Civil Engineer in our Las Cruces, NM office.

Responsibilities:

• Use hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and computation tools to design and analyze complex drainage systems and stormwater management basins, including preparing FEMA studies such as CLOMRs and LOMRs.
• Design stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements, including storm sewer networks, open channel design, and culverts.
• Prepare site drainage reports, design concept reports, and drainage master plans.
• Deliver project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with and mentor junior staff, fostering positive professional relationships with team members, clients, industry stakeholders, and regulators.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in a field directly relevant to water resources engineering services (preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years experience in hydrology and hydraulics studies, roadway drainage design, and flood‑control management.
• Proof of having passed the New Mexico Professional Engineer (PE) exam and being licensed within a year of obtaining a license, or already licensed in New Mexico.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic software such as StormCAD, Civil Storm, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑RAS2D, HEC‑HMS, FLO2D or similar.
• Experience with ArcGIS (preferred).
• Experience preparing work plans, budgets, and project schedules (highly preferred).
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil3D; experience with Bentley Micro Station, InRoads, and Open Roads (preferred).

Annual Salary Range: $79,000 – $135,000.
