Job Overview
Associate Systems Engineer – Space Vehicle Engineer (Level2) – Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS).
Location:
Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Space Vehicle Controller/Engineer (SVC) will command and control space vehicles, monitor telemetry, and execute and verify products loaded to the SV.
- Ensure integrity of the ground system and command path in support of the mission.
- Use Microsoft‑Windows or Unix‑based computers to develop operational plans and analyze data for future contacts or anomaly resolution.
- Coordinate with management and peers to deliver high‑quality operational products, including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration.
- Analyze technical data, verify and sustain systems configuration according to defined constraints and operational requirements.
- Monitor system performance and control system elements by executing commands to change configuration to achieve mission objectives.
- Support future system testing and integration requirements as needed.
- Receive specialized training to learn ground and SV configuration management skills and obtain necessary certifications.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications directly related to the work.
- Successful completion of the Space Vehicle Certification program (self‑study and on‑the‑job training).
- Experience in aerospace systems engineering.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with coding/scripting in languages such as MATLAB and Perl.
- Experience working with space vehicles.
Base salary range: $85,000–$115,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional Information• 100% onsite. Location is Las Cruces, New Mexico.
• Rotating shift schedule.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance at or above Top Secret/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph Pre‑Start.
• Position requires a U.S. person as defined by U.S. export control regulations.
