AECOM Water is seeking an entry level Structural Engineer to join our busy Albuquerque, New Mexico office.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
Responsibilities- Support structural engineering projects from conception to completion under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
- Perform advanced structural analysis and design calculations for complex structures.
- Develop structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with local and national building codes and standards.
- Participate in site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and innovative structural engineering practices.
- Participate in collecting and analyzing field data.
- Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performing work by agreed‑upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Travel to other states for fieldwork on 1 to 3‑day trips, accounting for up to 20% of the overall time.
- BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field+ None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
- Prior experience in water industry structural design is highly advantageous.
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first six months.
- Experience in advanced structural analysis software such as STAAD and RAM Elements.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in finite element analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with various building materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Basic understanding of building codes, standards, and seismic design principles.
- Work as part of a project team under the direction of a licensed engineer.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects efficiently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
