Manpower is partnering with a nonprofit organization seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial operations. This position oversees accounting functions, budgeting processes, audits, grant compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting across multiple program areas.
The CFO serves as a key member of the management team and provides financial insights to support organizational planning and operations.
What is the Job:Financial Operations & Oversight
- Maintain and strengthen financial policies, accounting procedures, and internal control systems.
- Lead the annual budget process, working with program and administrative teams to build accurate financial plans.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and analysis for leadership and board committees.
- Monitor cash flow, reserve levels, and funding allocations across different service areas.
- Oversee general ledger accuracy, period‑end closings, and journal entries.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audit preparation and documentation.
- Manage federal, state, and local grant reporting requirements.
- Prepare reimbursement requests, financial schedules, and spending projections for funders.
- Ensure financial systems support transparent reporting aligned with funding regulations.
- Track restricted funds and ensure compliance with award guidelines.
- Provide financial summaries and dashboards for leadership decision‑making.
- Support development of new revenue opportunities and assist with financial modeling for new initiatives.
- Help leadership assess organizational capacity, reserves, and risk exposure.
- Update financial procedures and documentation to meet operational needs.
- Supervise finance staff; assign responsibilities and review work for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and board members on financial processes and concepts.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to support organizational goals and operational efficiency.
- 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles; nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing budgets, audits, financial reporting, and grant or contract compliance.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial information to non‑finance staff.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, reporting structures, and internal control principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to analyze issues, propose solutions, and support long‑term financial planning.
