Position: Finance Director / Healthcare Work Experience

Position Overview

A hospital in Las Cruces is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead financial operations and support the overall business office function. This senior‑level role is well suited for a finance leader who has strong healthcare experience and enjoys working in a complex, regulated environment.

This position requires consistent on‑site presence and includes up to 20% travel. The role focuses on maintaining financial integrity, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial operations for the hospital, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Supervise and develop finance and business office staff
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and financial planning activities
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Provide guidance on business office processes and best practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to support strategic financial decision‑making
  • Maintain compliance with applicable standards, including healthcare privacy regulations
  • Oversee implementation and adherence to policies and procedures across financial operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements, including HIPAA
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams in a finance or business office environment
  • Experience applying organizational policies and procedures in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Familiarity with Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices preferred
  • Experience in staff supervision and development strongly preferred
