As a Systems Administrator you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on you to manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
How a Systems Administrator Will Make an Impact- Understand all the different systems that are monitored in the help desk and the Tier level responsibilities for the systems.
- Provide IT Service Management functions and first level troubleshooting to all customers; use procedures to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose failures and restore system capability; analyze, diagnose, and isolate hardware failures; directly replace or coordinate replacement of hardware failures; collect data for proper escalation to Tier 2/3.
- Perform network management services: monitoring network device health, network performance, utilization optimization.
- Perform OS monitoring; monitor Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software, custom software, resource memory allocation.
- Modify authorized user lists, user profiles, and file system maintenance.
- Understand all ITSM processes and document work accurately through a ticketing system.
- Perform visual inspections of hardware and document/report findings.
- Understand Service Level Agreements and ensure work completed within timelines.
- Manage account requests and provide account management responsibilities for personnel on numerous systems.
- Know functional leads and technicians for all managed systems; understand local site command and hierarchy; know POCs for systems outside the program's responsibility.
- Interface with customers and government officials.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Education
:
Technical training, certification(s), or degree with 3+ years of experience in a technical discipline, or equivalent combination. - Required Technical Skills
: 3+ years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis. - Preferred Experience
: UNIX/Linux system administration, Windows system administration. - Shift Work
:
Panama schedule – 12 hours/day for a total of 7 days over a 2-week period. Shifts are 6:00 AM‑6:00 PM or 6:00 PM‑6:00 AM. - Security Certifications
:
DoD IA certification – either valid CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA‑Security. Security+ CE preferred; must attain required DoD 8570 CE certification within 6 months of hire. - Security Clearance
: TS/SCI with polygraph. - Location

On customer site. - Citizenship
: U.S. citizenship required.
As part of your role/function on the program you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged users are subject to additional scrutiny and monitoring to ensure continuous adherence to privileged user processes and procedures. A zero‑tolerance policy applies to security violations.
