Description
Responsibilities- The Enterostomal Nurse is responsible for a variety of functions related to the specialty of ostomies, pressure ulcers, draining wounds, fistulas, fecal and urinary incontinence.
- Consults with physicians, nursing staff, patients, the community and other health care members in providing care.
- Utilizes the nursing process in the areas described above.
- Minimum Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master of Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of New Mexico. WOCN Certification preferred.
