Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Our Medical Surgical unit provides care for a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring patient progress. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of our patients.
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families about their health conditions and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Respond to patient emergencies and provide immediate medical assistance.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
- Certification in Medical Surgical Nursing (CMSRN).
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
