The House Supervisor is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy, goals and objectives. Achieves cooperation, teamwork, and higher morale between departments and staff by maintaining a positive, attentive, and interactive manner. Responds to staff, visitors, patients, and physicians’ questions in a timely manner. Consults with staff, physicians, and the CNO/ACNO/DON on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met.
Intervenes in conflict situations while showing support, trust, and respect to all covered while maintaining confidentiality % of the time. Provides nursing leadership and care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, treatment plans, and therapeutic treatments while providing supervision to the RN, LPN, and mental health technicians. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders related to cognitive, emotion, development, social and behavioral.
Performs crisis intervention techniques as needed. Maintains performance improvement activities within the development and participants in CQI activities. Maintains appropriate staffing ratios.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
:
Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred. Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of CPR (AED) certification and CPI training including appropriate use of seclusion and restraint within days of employment and must be deemed competent prior to assisting in a restraining process.
Must pass a medication administration exam.
