About the PositionHealth Advocates Network is urgently hiring Labor and Delivery L&D Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of recent experience. Immediate starts available in Grants, New Mexico, 87020.
Requirements- Active NM State Registered Nurse License
- Valid BLS
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Additional certifications may be required
Registered Nurse I (RN I) is a compassionate, licensed professional who delivers safe, high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate individualized patient education, guide and supervise ancillary team members, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and consistently uphold professional nursing standards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.
- Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care.
- Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs.
- Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi‑State Compact (eNLC) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Education and clinical experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages (pediatric through geriatric).
- Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
- Physical, Environmental & Psychological Considerations:
Frequent exposure to blood borne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials. Work occurs primarily in a temperature‑controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. - Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem‑solving and coping skills.
- Team‑oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations.
- Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.
- OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months.
- SAFER NM Technician certification preferred.
- Skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.
