American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR Circulator RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma facility in Las Cruces, NM, requiring multi-specialty surgical experience and NM or compact licensure.
Requirements- Active NM RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry required
- Valid driver's license required
- US Social Security Number required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- Day shift position with hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
- 13-week travel contract at a hospital-based Operating Room
- Supports a broad surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Level III Trauma facility
- On-call is required and split among OR RNs, averaging 7 calls per 6-week period; weekday call runs 3:00 PM-7:00 AM, and weekend call consists of 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Holiday coverage is required
- EMR systems used:
Medhost and PICIS - No floating required
- Option to work 48 hours per week
- Serves as the circulating nurse responsible for patient advocacy, safety, documentation, sterile field support, and workflow coordination throughout the intraoperative phase
- Responsibilities include surgical case preparation, equipment and supply management, specimen handling, medication administration, and multidisciplinary team coordination
- Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and ancillary staff
- Hospital-laundered scrubs are provided
- Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; this process can take several weeks
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Travelers who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- RTO requests must total less than one week for the duration of the contract
