American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Operating Room Circulator position requiring 2+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties and a New Mexico or compact RN license.
Details- Operating Room department within a Level III Trauma facility
- Circulator role supporting a diverse surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- 13-week assignment with Day shift schedule (6:30a-7p) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays
- Option to work 48 hours per week
- Call required, split among OR RNs averaging approximately 7 calls per 6-week period
- Weekday call runs 3p-7a; weekend call is 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- Holiday coverage required
- No floating required
- Uses Medhost and PICIS EMR systems
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- Experience required in General Surgery, Orthopedics, OBGYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license and US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care as a Circulator across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Responsible for patient assessment and advocacy, surgical case preparation, equipment and supply management, documentation, specimen handling, and medication administration
- Coordinate multidisciplinary team activities with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and nursing colleagues
- Maintain sterile field standards and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the intraoperative phase
- Scrubs are hospital laundered and provided
- Maximum RTO request of less than 1 week
- Candidates who have worked at this health system as permanent staff within the past 2 years will not be considered
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be considered for this position
