American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Days position requiring 2+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties and a NM or compact RN license.

• Level III Trauma facility Operating Room setting
• Circulating RN role supporting a diverse surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
• Day shift schedule working Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Option to work up to 48 hours per week
• Call required, split among OR RNs averaging approximately 7 calls per 6-week period
• Weekday call runs from 3 PM to 7 AM; weekend call consists of 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
• 24/7 unit coverage responsibility shared among nursing staff
• No floating required
• Uses Medhost and PICIS EMR systems

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required
• Experience required in General, Orthopedic, OBGYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand, and Podiatry surgical specialties
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care as a Circulating Nurse, responsible for patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination, and sterile field support during surgical procedures
• Coordinate and manage patient care throughout the intraoperative phase across a wide range of surgical specialties
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and nursing colleagues to ensure seamless surgical care delivery
• Serve as patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, adhering to evidence-based practices and sterile technique standards
• Holiday coverage required
• Hospital-laundered scrubs provided
• Maximum RTO of 1 week, and requests must be for less than 1 week
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Not eligible for consideration if previously employed as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years
