American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a travel position requiring 2+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties and call coverage.
Details- Level III Trauma facility Operating Room department
- Days shift, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, working Wednesday/Thursday/Friday
- Diverse surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Call requirement split among OR RNs, averaging 7 calls per 6-week period
- Weekday call runs 3 PM to 7 AM; weekend call is 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- Holiday coverage required
- Option to work 48 hours per week
- EMR systems used:
Medhost and PICIS - No floating required
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Experience required in General, Ortho, OBGYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand, and Podiatry surgical specialties
- No certifications expiring within first 30 days of start
- No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license required
- Fingerprinting required for all NM travelers
- Serve as circulating nurse responsible for patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination, and sterile field support during surgical procedures
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Coordinate and manage patient care throughout the intraoperative phase, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient surgical workflow
- Responsibilities include patient assessment and advocacy, surgical case preparation, equipment and supply management, documentation, specimen handling, and medication administration
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and nursing colleagues
- Scrubs are hospital laundered and provided
- Maximum RTO of 1 week; requests must be for less than 1 week
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local travelers are not accepted
- Returning travelers who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
