This full-time, on-site travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an experienced Acute Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and enjoys making a meaningful impact through risk management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. In Las Cruces, New Mexico, you’ll enjoy a welcoming Southwestern community known for its sunshine, scenic desert landscapes, and access to outdoor recreation.

Overview

As an Acute Registered Nurse with a focus on Risk Management, you will help support a culture of safety by identifying opportunities to reduce risk, strengthening processes, and partnering with clinical and administrative teams to protect patients and support high-quality care in a healthcare setting.

  • Position Type: Travel RN
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 28, 2026
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120-$2,230
  • Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Job Requirements
  • Three years of registered nurse experience, or a combination of nursing and claims/risk management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred
  • School of Nursing graduate preferred
  • Claims Management and/or Risk Management certification preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a stressful acute care environment
Responsibilities
  • Design and coordinate a comprehensive risk management program
  • Serve as a resource for current risk management practices and methodology
  • Review, develop, and coordinate risk management policies and procedures
  • Investigate, analyze, document, and recommend action on claims and potentially compensable events
  • Implement approved claim-handling actions and support risk reduction initiatives
  • Identify staff education needs and provide education through presentations and learning materials
  • Work collaboratively to support compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Participate in committees, work teams, and communication with external organizations as needed
