DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN
- Operating Room Circulator for a Level III Trauma facility, requiring 2+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties and an active NM or compact RN license.
- Circulating RN role in the Operating Room of a Level III Trauma facility
- Supports a diverse surgical caseload including General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Day shift schedule, 6:30a-7p, Mon-Fri, 3 shifts per week
- Option to work 48 hours per week
- Call required, split among OR RNs for 24/7 unit coverage, averaging 7 calls per 6-week period
- Weekday call runs 3pm-7am; weekend call is 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- Holiday coverage required
- No floating required
- EMR:
Medhost and PICIS
- Active RN license (NM state or compact) required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- Experience required in General, Orthopedic, OBGYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand, and Podiatry surgical specialties
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Active driver's license and US SSN required for consideration (Canadian SIN not accepted)
- Fingerprinting required for all NM travelers
- Responsible for patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination, and sterile field support during surgical procedures
- Coordinates and manages patient care throughout the intraoperative phase, including case preparation, equipment and supply management, specimen handling, and medication administration
- Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and support staff to ensure seamless surgical care
- Serves as patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, maintaining sterile technique and adherence to evidence-based practices
- Hospital-laundered scrubs provided
- Maximum RTO of 1 week, and requests must be for less than 1 week
- Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius; local travelers not accepted
