Veterinary Assistant

Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shift

Animal Hospital of Las Cruces is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

• Assist veterinarians with gathering patient histories
• Establish and assist with carrying out treatment plans
• Perform patient diagnostics such as lab work and radiographs
• Communicate pertinent information about patient care to clients
• Maintain hospital and patient cleanliness using aseptic technique, proper protective equipment, and isolation protocol
• Frequently lift and move patients up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Previous experience in the veterinary field required
• Exceptional communication skills
• Professional and courteous
• Able to multi-task and establish priorities
• Detail oriented
• Self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and proactively go the extra mile for others with a positive attitude
• Likes a challenge, has a desire to learn and grow
• Saturday availability required
