Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sales Representative role based in Las Cruces, NM. The Sales Representative will actively prospect and develop relationships with employers, explain Colonial Life’s workplace benefits, and guide decision-makers through the enrollment process. Daily responsibilities include meeting with existing and potential clients, conducting needs assessments, delivering presentations, and coordinating benefit education sessions for employees. The role involves managing a sales pipeline, preparing proposals, following up on leads, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation of benefit programs.

The Sales Representative is also expected to maintain accurate records, meet performance goals, and represent Colonial Life professionally in the local business community.

Qualifications
  • Strong sales and business development skills, including prospecting, relationship building, and closing deals.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to explain complex insurance concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Customer service and client support skills, focused on understanding client needs and providing responsive, solutions-oriented guidance.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple accounts, follow up on leads, and meet deadlines and sales targets.
  • Comfort with basic technology tools, including CRM systems, presentation software, and virtual communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, travel locally to client locations, and collaborate with internal teams as needed.
  • Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or B2B sales is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain any state-required insurance licensing.
