Shift: Other Shift (various)
- Assist in setting up and conducting bag searches at entrances for special events such as sports, concerts and campus activities.
- Monitor alcohol consumption at events.
- Assist police officers with ingress/egress of cars in parking lots.
- Assist with escorts and event control over watch.
- Secure cash rooms and assist police officer with traffic control at crash sites.
- Control crowds during events.
Required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Security Officer I – No previous experience required.
- Security Officer II – 100 hours required as a Security Officer I.
- Security Officer III – Requires firearms and defensive tactics training from the department with yearly qualifications.
Special Certification/Licensure:
- All applicants must pass a criminal history, background, and fingerprint check.
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license required.
- Security Officer III must complete psychological and drug screen exams.

Environment:
Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
Physical Effort:
Moderate physical activity. Can lift average-weight objects up to 10 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Some exposure to hazards or physical risks; must follow safety precautions.
