• Patrol campus housing areas, libraries, and general campus locations.
• Conduct parking enforcement activities.
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Support other department areas as directed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Complete Security Office I & II training within 6 months of hire.
• Pass criminal history, background, and fingerprint check.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license; must be at least 18 years old.

• Previous Level II Security Officer with the NMSU Police Department.
• Prior law‑enforcement certification with favorable separation.

• Pass psychological and drug‑screening exams (as required).

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
• Moderate physical activity; handling items up to 10 lb and standing/walking activity.
• Follow basic safety precautions to mitigate hazards.
