POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Accountant for General Ledger is responsible for the day-to-day accounting entries, preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, and perform ad-hoc accounting projects requested by management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and support in the month-end close process
- Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers
- Prepare report packages required internally and externally
- Maintain proper documentation and audit evidence is organized and accounted for within the department
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Adhere to deadlines, time constraints, and efficient request responses
- Ensure accounting records and practices adhere to GAAP and company policies and remain standard across all business units
- Provide support, training, problem resolution, and development to accountants on an ongoing basis to ensure the department performs at a maximum performance level
- Assist with financial statement review, discrepancies, and inquiry research with partnering departments to promote KPI success

- Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two (2) years prior experience in general ledger accounting for a large-scale resort and casino
- Experience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with various departments
- Experience pulling financial reports and utilizing them to make recommendations and decisions based on financial data
- Experience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations
- Experience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting including P&L review
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, and task-oriented, and can work independently with minimal direction
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively
- Experience establishing financial reports and utilizing them to make recommendations and decisions based on financial data
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, Team Members, and other outside contacts
- Excellent customer service skills

LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
