Position Title: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in a public company setting. The individual will be responsible for managing a small team and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Challenges may arise in consolidating subsidiary accounts, necessitating a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage reconciliations and month-end close processes
• Oversee basic journal entries and ensure timely payment of rent and utilities
• Consolidate financial reports from subsidiaries
• Handle accounts receivable related to management fees
• Manage accounts payable for legal and office expenses
• Collaborate with CPA on tax matters as needed
• Supervise a new accountant and a team of 5-6 staff members
• Assist with year-end reporting for a publicly traded company

Accounting Manager Requirements:

• Accounting degree
• Understanding of GAAP
• Experience working with multi-entity organizations and intercompany transactions
• Public company experience
• SOX experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience dealing with audits is preferred
• CPA and/or public accounting background is preferred
• Sage Intacct experience is preferred
