Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and driven Staff Accountant to join our client's accounting team. This role is ideal for a technical staff accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and enjoys contributing to continuous improvement across processes and reporting. The company is publicly traded, and the position offers exposure to sophisticated accounting, compliance, and financial reporting activities.

The ideal Staff Accountant will have 3-5 years of experience, a degree in accounting, and have prior public accounting experience.

Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:

- Prepare accurate month-end financial statements along with supporting schedules.

- Conduct detailed bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies.

- Create and post journal entries in alignment with accounting standards.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.

- Work closely with internal teams to address accounting needs and provide solutions.

- Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline accounting procedures.

- Utilize Sage Intacct software for financial management and reporting.

- Perform variance analysis to monitor financial trends and ensure compliance.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

Experience working within a public company environment a strong plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus

Proven ability to follow through, meet deadlines, and complete tasks accurately

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Solid working knowledge of financial analysis and general accounting principles

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
