Assurance Senior

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $ annually

Boos & Associates is growing. We recently received recognition as one of the Fastest Growing Accounting Firms in the Fresno area. We are expanding into new markets and seek a Senior Assurance Associate to join our Assurance team.

This role is open to candidates located in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background coordinating day‑to‑day planning, fieldwork, and wrap‑up of audit engagements, preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP, documenting, validating, testing, and assessing control systems. You will work closely with clients to obtain basic information and may be involved in reviews and agreed‑upon procedures.

What you will do
  • Lead the execution of audit and assurance engagements from planning to completion, including fieldwork and reporting phases.
  • Review working papers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards (GAAP, GAAS, and firm policies).
  • Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information and documentation for engagements.
  • Identify and communicate audit issues and areas for risk mitigation to clients and management.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of audit strategies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates, promoting a culture of learning and development.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring timely communication and addressing concerns as needed.
  • Stay up to date with relevant industry developments and regulatory changes, contributing to the firm’s knowledge pool.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals for new clients and business development activities.
What you bring to the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent (required)
  • Master’s degree in Accountancy (preferred)
  • Two or more years of prior experience in public accounting, or four or more years of relevant professional accounting experience in industry (required)
  • One or more years of prior supervisory experience (preferred)
  • CPA preferred; actively pursuing completion of CPA licensing (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Prior experience with assurance applications and research tools beneficial
  • Solid understanding of audit planning and execution for basic public and private companies
  • Knowledge of internal accounting controls and professional standards (GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt style to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to multitask independently and within a group environment
  • Superior analytical and diagnostic skills, with ability to break down complex issues and implement appropriate resolutions
  • Capacity to work in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment with focus on detail and accuracy
  • Solid project management skills
