Manager - Accounting Services

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Manager
- Shared Services is to assist the Executive Director
- Accounting Shared Services in managing the Shared Services accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and leading the month-end close process

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Perform various accounting functions including analysis of balance sheet accounts and operating department income statements, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

* Lead and mentor accounting staff in accordance with company standards and guidelines.

* Prepare and review general ledger journal entries to account for transactions posted to the general ledger.

* Reconcile and review balance sheet accounts.

* Review profit and loss statements with assigned operating departments.

* Prepare and review reports that summarize company business activities and financial positions in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations.

* Interpret the meaning of accounting records, reports and accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on Investments, income, cash position and overall financial condition.

* Assist with Financial System administrative tasks.

* Draft memos to Shared Services management on accounting related issues.

* Follow internal accounting policies and GAAP.

* Administer the company chart of accounts and financial reports.

Minimum Qualifications

* 21 years of age.

* Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.

* 5-8 years of previous accounting experience, with 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience required.

* Previous experience in the gaming and hospitality industry or public accounting preferred.

* Certified Public Accountant preferred.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

* Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

* Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
