Senior Accountant – William Hill Nevada

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the General Ledger team of William Hill Nevada in preparing accounting records and administering financial processes.

Responsibilities
  • Working on a hybrid-remote schedule.
  • Gaining knowledge of sports betting systems and underlying calculations.
  • Creating and reviewing detailed, complex spreadsheets.
  • Adhering to GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Training and coaching staff accountants.
  • Aiding staff accountants with problem solving and researching discrepancies.
  • Assisting Accounting Managers with Lease and Contract Accounting.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and bi-annual/annual revenue and profit shares.
  • Overseeing partner billing submissions and partner receivables.
  • Preparing quarterly, bi-annual and annual business licenses.
  • Communicating monthly results and maintaining relationships with sports book partners.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requests as required.
  • Supporting Accounting Managers and upper-management with ad hoc requests as required.
  • Prepared to assist and support their team members when required and work as a cohesive unit.
  • Upholding departmental policies, procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • 2 – 4 years of accounting experience
  • Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Able to obtain a gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board
  • Able to work a flexible schedule: evenings and weekends when needed
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Proven ability to lead and assist staff accountants
  • Working knowledge of preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries
  • Diligent to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel skills, macro knowledge a plus
  • Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software a plus
  • Able to adapt to changes
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative with excellent communication skills
  • Capable of meeting deadlines under pressure and time constraints
