Job Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Accounting Technician I/II in the Financial Services Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of technical accounting functions involving accounts payable and receivables, reconciling and monitoring accounting transactions using established procedures and guidelines; and process medical billing.
Minimum Qualifications- Education, Training, and Experience – Accounting Technician I
- High school diploma or equivalent supplemented with a minimum of two (2) post‑high‑school training courses in bookkeeping or accounting.
- One (1) year of technical and computerized accounting experience, including varied clerical work.
- Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations – Accounting Technician I
Position may require specialized skills, experience, certification, or other requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at time of recruitment.
- Education, Training, and Experience – Accounting Technician II
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) post‑high school course study classes in accounting, bookkeeping, or automated financial management systems.
- Two (2) years of full‑time technical accounting work experience, preferably in a government agency.
- One (1) year of work experience in varied clerical administrative support.
- Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations – Accounting Technician II
Position may require specialized skills, experience, certification, or other requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at time of recruitment.
- Flexible work schedules, including a four‑day, 10‑hour work week option (not applicable for all positions)
