Position Summary:
Performs accounting functions through the duties and responsibilities below.
- Maintains accounting data in accordance with department policy and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
- Prepares journal entries to the general ledger for assigned segments of business across various companies and object accounts.
- Performs bank reconciliations monthly for high volume and high dollar operating accounts.
- Records revenue for assigned segments of business related to contract-based revenue.
- Records event settlement revenues and expenses.
- Reconciles receivables and deferred revenue accounts for assigned segments of business.
- Reconciles general ledger balance sheet accounts.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly reporting as required by the Accounting Manager.
- Maintains an effective system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets and other transactions.
- Develops high level of expertise in the company’s accounting software, JD Edwards and Hubble.
- Seeks continual growth and expertise in the accounting and finance function and embraces cross‑training opportunities within the Accounting and Finance Department.
- Potentially assists with event work.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced coursework in finance preferred.
- 2–3 years experience in finance and/or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of standard accounting practices and experience with accounting systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- High degree of proficiency with data entry functions.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, and ability to learn other basic computer programs.
