VP of Accounting

Description

We are looking for an accomplished VP of Accounting to lead our client's accounting strategy and financial stewardship in Las Vegas, Nevada. This executive role will oversee core accounting operations, strengthen reporting accuracy, and guide budgeting and close processes that support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a track record of building disciplined financial practices within a fast-paced entertainment environment.

Responsibilities:

- Direct the full accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records, sound controls, and alignment with organizational goals.

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to deliver timely and reliable financial results.

- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and other key reporting packages for executive leadership.

- Drive the annual budgeting cycle and support ongoing forecasting activities to improve financial planning and performance visibility.

- Establish and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to promote compliance and operational efficiency.

- Partner with senior leaders across the business to provide financial insight, evaluate performance trends, and support strategic decision-making.

- Manage audit readiness and coordinate with external advisors to ensure smooth completion of required audits and filings.

- Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team while setting clear expectations for accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership responsibility.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, month-end close, audit management and annual budget development.

- Strong knowledge of budgeting processes, accounting principles, and financial controls.

- Proven ability to lead large accounting teams and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.

- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment with multiple priorities.

- High level of analytical judgment, organizational skill, and attention to detail.
